A może ktoś pierdzieć dlaczego Duny oddały helmuty arabom ??
I read on Polish Foreign Office webpages about drinking of water especially in Africa and ilnesses connected with it, so You're right - it's not recommended to drink water from tap! It can most of all loose the bowels
@JP - in these countries, the water is not pure, so Europeans will often get sick if they drink it, or eat food that has been washed in the local water - Boiled water is usually OK, though.
Polish Ministry of Foreign Affaires recommend not to try buying any vegetables in southern Belarus because of after-Chernobyl radiation As far as you really can buy some fresh and not-radioactive food there, I think you can also drink water in Egypt. But I agree, it is a little bit risky
By the way, they don't use bottled water in cafes?
Much food in Egypt is fresh fruit and vegetables (but we saw conditions in the markets - see Helwan photos!) It is how they are washed that can be a problem. Bottled water is necessary for drinking, cleaning teeth etc. If people who are unused to it drink the local water (which probably comes straight out of the River Nile in some areas) you run the risk of 'Pharoah's Revenge' - unable to leave the toilet for 24 hours!
